We are a global team of highly-qualified consultants, comprising mainly social scientists (anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, ethno-linguists), information technologists, industrial designers and HR practitioners. The team came together to develop the concept of “anthropotechnology” as a business solution based on executive research to overcome emerging challenges faced by today’s multinational companies.

Our research laboratory, namely “ANTROPOTEK” was founded at KITA, the Institute of Ethnic Studies, located on the campus of the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia.

Dr. Eric Olmedo
Workplace Antropologist
Eric Olmedo, Ph.D.

Dr. Eric Olmedo is the Director of ‘Antropotek’ laboratory. He is a social anthropologist specialized in the workplace. As such, he has developed the key-concept on anthropotechnology that has been applied mainly in manufacturing and aerospace industry. He also acts as consultant in training and education for hospitality and industry sectors. He has been conducting missions on workforce development and capacity building with various agencies on behalf of the French Development Agency (AFD) and the World Bank, in Central and Southeast Asia.

Ms. Jimena Barrera
Jimena Barrera

Jimena Barrera is currently a Junior Project Manager at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She has a Master’s of International Business Management from Toulouse Business School, France. Her experience includes, strategic planning and coordination of projects from working at the United Nations Development Programme Colombia and the Centre of Development Studies of University of los Andes, Colombia; performing as a coordinator for projects such as the “National Development Plan in the mining sector of Colombia” and “virtual training for diplomats on peacebuilding and peacekeeping on Latin America”; and volunteering within the administrative departments of three Colombian NGOs: “Women for Colombia”, “One Roof for My Country” and “The Art of Living”.

Prof. Dr. Shamsul A. B.

Distinguished Prof. Datuk Dr. Shamsul Amri Baharuddin (aka Shamsul A. B.) is the founding director of the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Since 1973, he has accumulated over forty years of teaching & research experience within Universiti Malaya and UKM. He did his post-doctoral at CNRS Paris in 1986. The main focus of his research, writing and lectures are on the themes of politics, culture & economic development within Southeast Asia. His books have become standard references in Australia, Japan, the UK, Sweden & the USA in courses on Southeast Asian politics & culture. He has been a frequent political commentator and analyst in local and international mass media, such as Al-Jazeera, Channel News Asia, BBC London, ABC Australia and The National Geographic.

Dr. Anis Yusal Yusoff

Anis Yusal Yusoff, Ph.D.

Dr. Anis Yusoff is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (INTEGRITI). He has served over ten years in different bodies within United Nations, such as The United Nations Development Programme  and the UN Volunteers in Bonn, Germany. He was a Principal Fellow at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and was the Project Director of the Malaysian Ethnic Relations Monitoring System – an early warning system to manage inter-ethnic conflict nationwide. His expertise is much sought after and has served on a number of national-level advisory bodies, relating to anti-corruption and integrity.

Patrick Deyris

Mr. Patrick Deyris has worked for ACCOR Group for 35 years undertaking different managerial positions throughout Europe. He was awarded the second highest Accor distinction for outstanding economic results (“Bernache d’argent”) achieved at Novotel Toulouse Centre.  He is the implementer of one of the last generation concepts for hospitality industry in France: Gourmet Bars are presently being developed by Novotel chain in Europe through subsidiaries and franchised hotels (Milan, Madrid, Avignon, Paris, Nancy, Orleans, Lille, among others).

Imran Shamsul
Industrial Designer
Imran Shamsul

Imran Shamsul is an Industrial Designer with experience in interaction design, ethnographic research and a sensitivity for different cultural nuances. His main focus is to create universally beneficial outcomes in the public and private sector, specifically inclusive social profit and wellbeing. He is a contributor to the open-source community, most notably with the Haptic Proximity Module: a travel aid for the vision impaired.
